Finally! We are proud to introduce SMS and gifts to studentSN. We have worked long and hard to get these features to you, and hope that they will make your studentSN that much more special!

Briefly put, you can now send SMS from studentSN to anyone with a cellphone. The service is for now limited to people in Turkey and Germany, but very soon we will open up to the rest of the world as well.

Of course you’re thinking: ‘I have my own phone, why would I go online to send an SMS?’

Well, think of it this way: You’re online, supporting statements and smiling at pretty people, and you suddenly realize that you need to be in class. You decide to tell a friend to sign your name instead, while you stay at home. There’s no need to look for your phone, you just click on SMS in the menu, type the number (if your friend is also on studentSN, or if you’ve already sent them a message, then they’re In your SMS address book already!), type the message, and send it! Presto!

If that isn’t motivation enough, then consider this: sending an SMS from studentSN costs a LOT less than sending from anywhere else, and we don’t have any hidden costs. The SMS can appear to be sent from your own phone number, or from ’studentSN’, and you can chose as many recipients as you want. Still not convinced? Well, as an introductory promotion, we are letting you send SMS for less than HALF the original price. 0,99 credits, to be exact.

Digital Gifts are gifts that are digital. For 10 credits, you can send that special someone a gift showing them how much you care. Or wish your best friend happy birthday. Or just send them a digital car because it’s fun. The gifts appear on your profile for ALL to see (unless you decide that you want them to be private, of course!) and are a great way of showing your studentSN friends that you’re thinking of them!

As a promotion, we are offering 2 free digital gifts for you to send to friends and try things out. But hurry up, not all gifts are unlimited. Some are exclusive. If you’re quick, you might be one of the few to have those. A definite must for the cool profile!

To get started, you need to activate your account. This requires two steps: verifying your email (in case you haven’t already), and providing your real contact information (which no other users will see, don’t worry). After that, you can add credits by buying TopUp cards from a nearby Kiosk.

You don’t have to buy cards in order to try things out. We’re giving you promotional credits to start with, so that you can see how things work before you need to buy any cards. Keep checking your promotions in ‘account overview’ you never know what you might get

In order to send SMS, there’s one more step involved, you need to verify your cellphone number. You can do that from SMS settings, by entering your number, and then typing the confirmation code that we send you. Again, we will not share your phone with anyone, but the law requires us to keep it on record. No users will see your phone number unless you decide to show it to them.
